09/01/15 Get it Out Lab!

I am still waiting on a few contracts! “Contract”

An experiment’s Question??? You should always have a question that is objective not subjective. Objective=fact based How far can a ball travel with an aluminum, wooden, synthetic, and steel bat. You can measure this. Subjective= opinion based Which bat sounds the best? It is an opinion.

Variable What changes in the experiment 8 th Grade Independent Variable (What I/you change) and Dependent Variable (What you are measuring!)

Control The Normal used to compare to the variable

Hypothesis Your educated guess! Why you think it is going to happen. WHY???

Plant Experiment What liquid will allow the plant to grow the tallest?

What is your hypothesis?

What would the variable be in that experiment? Why?

What would the control be in that experiment? Why?

Music/Mice How long would it take mice to complete a maze, while listening to different types of music? No Music

What is your hypothesis?

What would the control be in that experiment? Why?

What would the variable be in that experiment? Why?

How fast can you get the water out, using different pours?

What would the control be in that experiment? Why?

Please create a chart to record the data Water Removal Time Control Test 1 Control Test 2 Control Test 3 AverageObservations

What is our variable?

Please create a chart to record the data Water Removal Time Variable Test 1 Variable Test 2 Variable Test 3 AverageObservations

Please create a chart to record the data Water Removal Time Variable 2 Test 1 Variable 2 Test 2 Variable 2 Test 3 AverageObservations

What is your hypothesis?

Conclusion Why did the water come out faster? Was your Prediction correct?

Please talk to your group to see how you would like to get the water out of the container! New Method

Enrichment can be found on the Website!

You will have two minutes to talk about which variable you will use to get the water out! Why did you pick this variable?

Please use your summary criteria sheet to answer all the questions about the Get it Out Lab!
