 Dermoid cyst is clinically and biologically benign  Results from a developmental malformation with the defect of gastrulation affecting the surface of ectoderm and secondary disruption of neural tube closure  Contains elements of dermis, such as hair and hair follicles and apocrine, sebaceous or sweat glands.

 Intracranial dermoids are rare congenital lesions that account for % of all intracranial tumors  When they are intradural they tend to be midline

 We considered the case of a 48 years old, male pacient(M.I)  He was admitted to Emergency Clinical Hospital Bagdasar-Arseni, nsIV for intracranial hypertension syndrome with headaches, nausea and vomiting  Other clinical and neurological examination were in normal limits without epileptic seizuires  MRI, CT results

 According to histopathologic examination the tumor was a mature didermic teratoma- dermoid cyst  It showed stratified squamous epithelium and abundant sebaceous glands, characteristic features of dermoid tumors
