By Patrick Fitzgerald

There once was a boy. He had a wealthy father. His father was very generous and was going to split his land and wealth between his sons. The younger son was greedy and wanted it now. His father gave him the money and land. Now the son thought he did not need his father and he left.

He sold his land, went to a different country, and he spent all of his money foolishly.

After he spent all of his money there was a bad famine. He went to get a job because he was in need of money so he got a job feeding pigs. He began to think about how his fathers servants never went hungry. He was going to go to his father and ask for forgiveness and be one of his servants.

When the son returned home his father gave him a big hug and welcomed him home. The said he was sorry and that he would work for him, but his father called his servants to get him ready for a big welcome home party.

The sons older brother got jealous because he stayed with his father and never got anything but when his brother came back from abandoning them he got a party. The father told him that we should celebrate, because he was lost but now found.

The Moral The moral of this story is that God takes back all who sin or made a mistake with open arms like the father did to his son.
