What the course is? Designed to give students the knowledge and understanding necessary to prepare for the ACE Personal Trainer Certification Exam and become effective personal trainers. Presents the ACE Integrated Fitness Training™ (ACE IFT™) Model as a comprehensive system for designing individualized programs based on each client's unique health, fitness, and goals. Helps students learn how to facilitate rapport, adherence, self-efficacy and behavior change in clients, as well as design programs that help clients to improve posture, movement, flexibility, balance, core function, cardiorespiratory fitness, and muscular endurance and strength.

Details, cont’d Must have 6 people register in order for class to run – 15 spots available. Must register by January 19 th Must have had classroom experience (or equivalent) in Human Anatomy, Human or Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology and Nutrition in order to successfully register for class.

Benefits! Will be prepared to take ACE PT Exam *Cost of Exam is $359 (with ACE Course Discount) AND/OR Will be able to work at the UND Wellness Center as a Personal Trainer before certified upon successful completion of the course.

WC Employment Eligibility Non-Employee in-house training program eligibility (Train without certification) Must attend and complete 90% of classes and assigned homework Must attain an 85% on final exam Must attend 2 different group exercise classes (Can be completed simutaneously with course) Must attend 1 Cheap Fast & Healthy class (Can be completed simutaneously with course) Must shadow 2 different trainers for 1 session each. (Can be completed simutaneously with course) Must take national exam within 1 semester of completion of the course Must complete WC Application process that is in place. Must attend mandatory interviews
