The political system of the USA and the political system of Great Britain Политическая система США и Великобритании 10 «А» команда Pioneers

Can we say that the political system of the USA resembles the political system of Great Britain? Можно ли утверждать, что политическая система США схожа с политической системой Соединенного Королевства?

The Queen British Parliament (the House of Commons and the house of Lords) The Cabinet of Ministers The Court Congress (the Senate and the House of Representatives) The President The Supreme Court Political system is a constitutional monarchyrepresentative democracy The UK The USA

In Britain the Queen is the Head of State, she doesn’t rule the country. The most important function of the Queen is ceremonial. The Queen is the symbol of history and traditions. Now the Queen of Great Britain is Elizabeth II. The real power belongs to the British Parliament. The House of Commons is the most powerful and decides national policy, but the House of Lords can ask the House of Commons to rewrite certain parts of a bill before it becomes a new law The legislative branch is made up of representatives elected to Congress. The main function of the Senate and the House of Representatives is to make laws. Congress has also the power to tax people, to create a courts system and to declare a war. The legislative branch

The executive branch is represented by the Government — the Cabinet headed by the Prime Minister. Her Majesty’s Government governs in the name of the Queen. The executive power is vested into the President and his Cabinet. The President appoints heads of federal departments and federal judges, puts into life laws made by Congress, calls sessions and delivers messages to Congress. The UK The USA The executive branch

The Supreme Court of the United Kingdom is the supreme court in all matters under English law, Northern Irish law and Scottish civil law. It is the court of last resort and highest appellate court in the United Kingdom. The judicial branch is headed by the Supreme Court. An important function of the judicial branch is to determine whether laws of Congress or actions of President violate the Constitution. The UK The USA The judicial branch

In conclusion we should say that there are a lot of similarities in the political systems of these countries.
