 Born on  Died  Tuskegee, Alabama  Civil Rights Worker

 She triggered the Montgomery bus boycott, this ended segregation.  She won the NAACP’S award.  In 1983 she was inducted into the Michigan’s Women Hall of Fame.  In 1999 she was presented with the Congressional Gold Medal.

 She lost her mother at a young age.  She had to quit school when her grandma became sick to take care of her.  She was diagnosed with progressive dementia.
