University of Florida College of Education Master’s Degree Online in Educational Leadership

Welcome Welcome to the Online Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Florida. We are so glad that you will be joining us. This presentation is designed to share information and resources that will help you become oriented with our program and the university.

Program Overview The online master’s program is designed to provide working educational professionals with a degree in educational leadership from a nationally ranked research university. Coursework and experiences are based on the Florida Principal Leadership Standards and prepare candidates for the Florida Educational Leadership Exam (FELE). Innovative in design and practical in focus, the program includes mentoring and support for practicing school leaders.

As a Student in This Program, You Will… Complete an educational leader degree that leads to FL principal certification; Apply what you learn in your work setting; Enjoy a flexible schedule designed for practicing professionals; Participate in a professional learning community focused on educational leadership; Collaborate with other professionals in an online learning environment; Develop as an educational leader; Learn about many aspects of educational leadership, including law, finance, administration and policy.

Course Registration Prior to the beginning of each semester, an with registration information will be sent to you which includes course numbers and section numbers. Be sure to check your Gatorlink . Registration tips:  When registering for a course, enter the section number and not the course number. Online Program website: **NOTE TO APPLICANTS EXPECTING TO EARN EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP DEGREE WITH PRINCIPAL CERTIFICATION: Those completing the certification program are required to complete an ESOL training requirement. If you have not completed a (3) credit hour survey course in ESOL or do not have documentation of the completion of sixty (60) hours of ESOL district in-service education, you will be required to take TSL You should attach documentation to the program plan, when submitted, if the requirement has been met. Florida Educational Leadership Examination (FELE) Students enrolled in the Educational Leadership, a state-approved and NCATE (National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education) program, must provide passing scores for all pertinent sections of the Florida Educational Leadership Examination (FELE) prior to graduation from the program. Documentation should be sent to the University of Florida (Institution Code: 5812) and to the department at least 60 days prior to your graduation date.
