“who is the Lord that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the Lord neither will I let Israel go”

Concessions of the Wicked One Exodus 8-10

“Stay in the land” (Ex. 8:24-25)   No “positional” change, no separation, no “coming out from among them” (2 Cor. 6:17)   Moses would not compromise (Ex. 8:26-27)   Rom. 12:2 “do not be conformed to this world but be transformed…”   Make a complete “exodus” (Jn. 15:19)

“Do not go very far” (Ex. 8:28)   Satan wants us “at arm’s length”   Obey the Lord but don’t go very far   Purity, knowledge, worship, giving, hospitality, an evangelistic spirit   How far should we go?   Mt. 22:37 with all we have (cf. Rom. 1:15)   Rom. 6: Escape the land of sin and death and stay close to the border?

“Only the men may go” (Ex. 10:11)   One of Satan’s devices: divide the family.   Moses refused this compromise (:9-10)   It should never be asked “who are the ones that are going?” (:8)   Some parents are leaving their children in Egypt!

Leave your possessions (Ex. 10:24)   Moses strongly resisted: “not a hoof shall be left behind”   We cannot serve God and mammon (Mt. 6:24)   We employ our possessions in God’s service (:26)

You are too busy (Ex. 5:1-9)   Worship prevention 101: increase the work load! (:8-9)   If God’s people are too busy, too preoccupied they will not focus on serving the Lord.

63+ “who is the Lord that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the Lord neither will I let Israel go” “rise, go out from among my people, both you and the children of Israel. And go, serve the Lord as you have said. Also take your flocks and your herds as you have said, and be gone; and bless me also.”
