Page 1 One day there was a girl named Desirae. She found a dog. She looked for a tag, or a name, address, or a phone number.

Page 2 She took a picture and she made posters. She gave some to her friends and she put them up in the mall.

Page 3 She went outside the next day. She wanted to see if the dog knew how to fetch or catch. Turns out she knew how to.

Page 4 She thought that since she would have to keep the dog there with her, she would give her a name. She thought of a name for a really long time.

Page 5 She asked her friends if they liked the name. They did. The name was Dakota.

Page 6 Dakota had brown fur. Desirae knew that a lot of her friends had dogs that looked the same. She called her friends and asked if they had lost their dogs.

Page 7 A lot of her friends said no. Then another one of her friends said yes. So she brought the dog to her friend’s house to give it to her.

Page 8 The next day there was a lady that called Desirae’s house looking for Dakota. Desirae said, “Sorry, I think you have the wrong person.”

Page 9 Desirae said, “I have already found the person, with the lost dog. It’s one of my friends.” “But it’s my dog. Can I, please, have my dog back?” said the woman.

Page 10 The lady got her dog back and her friend got her dog back. Turns out Dakota was the lady’s dog and Desirae’s friend’s dog was in her dog house.

My name is Brittany Orleen Grear-Dawson. I live in Shelburne, Nova Scotia. I’m 11 years old. My mother is from Ottawa, Ontario. My father is from Shelburne, Nova Scotia. I was born in Ottawa, Ontario. I was born on July 29 th,1998. I like to watch TV, play basketball and softball. I like to play with my dog and I like to play with my friends, and I like to play with my 2 sisters named Bailey and Kelsey.

Dominique Crowell- I think that this is a good book because it is very interesting, and that your book buddie will love it! Hannah Cameron-I really like this book, it has a lot of good words for young readers.
