Aristotle Greek Philosopher By: Nicholas Collins

Aristotle Beginning AAAAristotle was born in Stageira, a Greek colony in Macedonia in 384 B.C. He died in 322 B.C. At the age of 61 and/or 62.He was a student to Plato. And a teacher of Alexander the Great. His writings covered the more favored subjects. Like physics, metaphysics, and poetry. Metaphysics is a branch that shows the nature of reality. Including the relationship between mind and matter and substance and attribute.

Aristotle’s Achievements  Aristotle created a way to classify plants and animals based on their characteristics in biology. In math he also created the system of symbolic logic. It wasn’t right but it was worth a shot. The mistake was found in the 1900s. But we still use it today. He also stated his own school. He named Lyceum named after the Greek god Apollo Lyceum.

Aristotle’s Life  Aristotle married Pythias. Pythias was the adopted daughter of Hermias. Aristotle and Pythias only had one daughter. The only daughters’ name was Pythias. Just like her mother. But when Pythias and Hermias died he remarried. He married Herpyllis, who came from his birthplace.
