Democritus Discovered atomic theory in Greece, early 400 B.C. Was one of the first creators of the basis for the atomic theory The theory stated that all objects are made up of little indestructible and invisible things called atoms. His discoveries were way ahead of his time Studied natural philosophy in Greece

Aristotle Discovered theory in 332B.C. He concluded that all things are made up of form and matter which can only be changed with growth Thought all elements were made up of earth, fire, water, and air Did not believe on the atomic theory and taught so otherwise People believed and supported Aristotle’s theory because in that time he had one of the greatest minds

Random facts Democritus: Died at the age of 90 Considered the father of modern science Published over 70 books Also studied geometry Aristotle: Tutored Alexander the Great Lived and worked in Greece his whole life Believed earth was the center of the universe Established a library in Lyceum
