EESSI (Electronic Exchange of Social Security Information) EESSI is a core element in the new Regulations: –Enables institutions to exchange information electronically under a common secure network –Gives effect to the principle of enhanced cooperation between the Member States

Development of flows and SEDs - process SEDs and flows defined for ALL social security sectors on official DG EMPL website in section “Official Documents”: Available in all official languages in Spring 2011 (third batch – first and second batch in Nov 2010) Guidelines available end 2010

Paper version of SEDs Paper versions of the SEDs developed that can be used by institutions until EESSI is operational and exchange of SEDs can be done electronically. Paper SEDs only for temporary use until end of the transitional period (30 April 2012), when all institutions must be connected to the EESSI system –Article 95 Reg 987/2009: Transitional period of 2 years for implementation EESSI DG Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities9
