About the book The main characters in this book are Shannon, Cody, Uncle Neal, Jackie, and Tyler. The story takes place at the “ Jackie's Wild Seattle” animal shelter/ clinic. There is a problem in this story. The problem is that Tyler’s dad has some serious problems and they really cause him to treats Tyler like there is nothing in Tyler that he would ever care about and he abuses the kid. He is a terrible person, he doesn’t care about the animals that Tyler is trying to help. He acts the same way to his wife. He is so mean to them that Tyler and his mother just don’t know what to do and they try to stay away from him but he is still just going to either start another problem or make one worse. Here are some key events that happened in the story. To start with Cody and Shannon are brother and sister and their parents are doctors and so they are going to parts of the world where they don’t have doctors for the summer and so Cody and Shannon have to stay with their Uncle Neal and they haven't seen him in years. Another thing is that Tyler’s dad set the pigs den on fire and went to jail. One more event that happened was Neal almost cut his thumb off but luckily it didn’t. There are these keys to the book. Now you know that Tyler’s dad is in jail so that will really help with understanding the solution. The solution to the book is that while Tyler’s dad was at jail his wife but her foot down and said “ You know what? I have had enough of you and I’m sure every body else has to, me and Tyler are moving back to North Carolina with my parents and without you!
