2 This is John. He loves chocolate!

3 He lives with his family. They want John to eat healthy foods.

4 On Monday, John was sick. He had spots on his nose. He went to visit Dr. C.

5 Dr. C. looked at John. He said “You are full of candy! You need to eat fruits and vegetables!”

6 John said, “I like banana surprises!” They are bananas with chocolate!

7 Banana surprises were not healthy. Dr. C. likes apples, carrots, chicken, eggs, and milk.

8 Chapter 2

9 On Tuesday, John took a walk. He found a shiny quarter.

10 He went to the candy store. The big box of chocolate was only one quarter!

11 He was so excited. He paid for the box of chocolate. John walked back home.

12 John walked quietly up the stairs. He put the chocolate under his bed.

13 That night, John was excited about his chocolate. He got ready for bed very early!

14 Before going to sleep, he ate the chocolate! It tasted delicious!

15 John went to bed very happy.

17 On Wednesday, John woke up. He was surprised that everything tasted like chocolate!

18 His toothpaste tasted like chocolate.

19 His eggs and bacon tasted like chocolate.

20 John’s mom was happy. John was eating healthy food!

21 Everything John touched turned to chocolate.

22 His pencil turned to chocolate. This got him in trouble at school.

23 His trumpet turned to chocolate in music class. This got him in trouble in music.

24 John was upset and feeling sick. He went to see Dr. C.

25 Dr. C said “You have chocolitis. Take this medicine and you will feel all better.” You have chololitis!

26 The medicine didn’t work. John still felt sick.

27 John went back to the candy store. He told the man that everything was turning to chocolate.

28 The man said “you need to start eating healthy foods.”

29 That night when John went home for dinner he ate chicken, carrots, and milk.

30 He was happy. His dinner didn’t turn to chocolate! He felt better!

31 John was happy his chocolate problem was fixed. He promised he would eat healthy foods!
