eStart Update 22 nd May 2013 Peter Hook Project Officer - Business Development Team

Upgrades 3.49 introduced 3 new elements: Families in Greatest Need Eligible 2 Year Olds Evidence based Parenting Programmes 3.50 introduced: New facility for recording Workless Households TARGET: Implement June 2013

Families in Greatest Need proposal CAF in place Child in Need Child protection Plan in place Looked After Child Eligible 2 Year old Family supported by Targeted Prevention Team Family Supported by Troubled Families Team Family Supported by CC Family Support Worker Early Help Family Others e.g. Low Income, MH, D&A, IPV??

Eligible 2 Year Olds All of the above for family in greatest need plus: –Meets Online Eligibility Checker criteria Allows you to record the setting where the child receives childcare – we need to pre-load all day care settings and eligible childminders in the dropdown

Parenting Programmes Need to introduce standardised events on eStart for: Solihull 123 Magic Triple P Any others??

Workless Households Screen has a similar layout to the one for families in Greatest Need: Start date/end date History of episodes of worklessness Drop-down menu – propose we have 2 options: –Declared at Registration –Declared at an event or contact

Evidencing Impact 2 main reasons: –Evidence for the NCC commissioners –Evidence for Ofsted Current setup allows recording of impacts based on practitioners’ judgments – list devised in 2011 – does it need revising? Need to adapt target groups to fit new Ofsted framework Seeking volunteers to help with this work

Enhanced reporting Children’s Centre Advisory Group endorsed the proposal to open up Reporting to enable centres to track their families’ attendances at other centres Enhanced user rights will allow someone to run reports on behalf of/covering a cluster of centres Option for the future – all users have open access to all records? Let’s see how current arrangements work first.

Other potential developments Short Term: Additional Custom Fields to identify target groups (Ofsted framework). Short/Medium Term: Guidance on the use of the Notes facility; revised Outcomes facility. Longer Term: Standardisation of Events for cluster/county reporting on activities.

Thank you!
