Puerto Rican Parade of florida (Business Expo, Health Fair, Festival & Parade) 5 th Anniversary Celebration 5 th Anniversary Celebration Sponsorship & Business Opportunity

INTRODUCTION The Desfile Puertorriqueño of Florida, is a non-profit organization and 501C3. We are a group of volunteers who has made a commitment to our culture and our community. Our mission is to promote awareness and education in relation to our culture, by showing pride and by sharing our contributions to the local culture and society. For 4 years we have proudly organized the Puerto Rican Parade of Florida, Business Expo, Health Fair & Festival, a free event for the community, in which we celebrate our heritage, culture and pride. In this year’s 5 th Anniversary Celebration we are committed in organizing our best event so far. Fourth Puerto Rican Parade event that is going to represent our culture in the most visible aspect of the celebration of our Puerto Rican heritage. We also value education and training to bring professional commitment to efficiently serve our community, we value our volunteers who are loyal to the organization because only are they committed to the goals of the organization, we value the communication as a necessary tool in promoting the teamwork in order to have a successful event. We also take pride in our work and we value being the best we can be. The uniqueness of this event is that for the last four years we have brought to our county and city an event that was never done before and that we have attracted many tourists from all over including delegations from Puerto Rico, Washington, New York and other states. That has given us the opportunity to showcase our County and we have been able to show our visitors that this is a year round destination, serving a balance of visitors and residents. Our community is diverse, we have the largest Hispanic population in Osceola County and the Puerto Rican community is among the highest percentage. We are committed as well, to foster an environment of respect for the rights of all people. We believe that our culture has been misrepresented in our community. We also feel very strong about improving and advancing the Puerto Rican culture and arts by encouraging, promoting, managing, and participating in various cultural events including musical productions, theaters and others.

DEMOGRAPHICS  The Puerto Rican population is one of the largest distinct ethnic groups in the United States, and the second largest subgroup of the Hispanic population (after Mexican-Americans). The 4.2 million Puerto Ricans living in the mainland U.S. have come to surpass those on the island of Puerto Rico, which until this decade had the majority of the Puerto Rican population.  There is an estimated 900,000 Puerto Ricans living in Florida, representing 374,000 that currently lives in the central Florida, running from Orlando to Tampa.  But the burgeoning growth of the Puerto Rican population in those areas bears examination, since its estimated that in 2015 has been a dramatically increase of Puerto Ricans leaving the island to settle in Orange and Osceola County, estimated that approximately 100 families are moving to the region each week.  Most notably Osceola County, whose Puerto Rican residents now comprise 27.2 percent of the population, according to data from the U.S Census. One fact to note is their large presence in the area. In Orlando, Puerto Ricans are 49 percent of the Hispanic population and 11 percent of the population overall. Growth is occurring nearly everywhere in Florida, and it is of interest to see how this population compares to those in other Puerto Rican centers of concentration. One aspect is the strong presence of native Puerto Ricans, which indicates that Florida may be serving as gateway for Puerto Rican migration to the mainland.*  This event gives your company a great opportunity to market your services and/or products to the Puerto Rican community face to face. More than 40,000 people attend our event every year. * Information based on 2010 US Census and the Pew Research Center
