You will be starting with an original image, or you can combine 2-3 images. Then you will add a new layer on top and you will experiment with the Paint Brush Tool. Experiment with different brush shapes, sizes, and hardnesses.
These are found in the filters menu. But remember, you must be on a copied layer to apply the filter. Otherwise you will change the original image. We always want to save the original image without changing it as the background layer.
Remember, you need to be on the top layer (of the ones you want to blend) and have the move tool active. Then hold down Shift and + to scroll through blending modes. Or just use the drop down menu in the layers palette.
