BASIC WORD PROCESSORS Word Processor Word processor is a program which is used to edit text files and format them with font, size, style, and other properties. Free options for Word Processors include Sun StarOffice and OpenOffice and Word Perfect. Basic word processors are Notepad and Wordpad.

Notepad is a basic text editor that can be used for creating simple documents or Web pages. If you don’t need to change the appearance of your text you can use Notepad. To open Notepad, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Notepad. WordPad is another basic word processor. You can save your WordPad file as a text file, rich text file (RTF), text file for MS-DOS, or Unicode. BASIC WORD PROCESSORS Wordpad

Rich Text File: This is a file format standardized by Microsoft for creating formatted text files. Unlike a basic text file, an RTF file can include information such as text style, size, and color. Search: Just like in the Notepad, on the Edit menu, click Find. In Find what, type the characters or words you want to find, and then click Find Next. To find additional instances of the same text, continue to click Find Next. BASIC WORD PROCESSORS Basic Operations in Wordpad

Search and Replace: Just like in the Notepad, on the Edit menu, click Replace. In Find what, type the characters or words you want to find. In Replace with, type the text you want to replace it with.
