A CCEPTING R ESPONSIBILITY It is important for a student to know that what they did was wrong. The goes along with taking responsibility for their actions. There may as well be consequences. E XPECTATIONS It is important to clarify the expectations that the teacher has for the students work. P REVENTION One way to prevent plagiarism is that have all of the student sign a wager of academic integrity. This will hold the student accountable for their actions. Another way is to have no tolerance and if a student is caught plagiarizing then they could be expelled from the school. An Honor code is another prevention technique that has worked for some schools. Teachers can also make academic integrity as one of the core values of the class room. McCabe, Don; Katz, Daniel. D ETECTING P LAGIARISM One way to detect plagiarism would be to compare it to quality and standard of work that the student is achieving.
