Are you a Student enrolled in a Work Experience Program? Let’s answer some of these questions today: 1. If I am a minor, how many hours can I work? 2. Do I need “Working Papers”? 3. Why do I need to follow these rules?

Minors When School Is In Session Age 14 and 15 – may work 3 hours on school days, 8 hours on other days, up to 18 hours per week, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Age 16 and 17 – may work 4 hours on days preceding school days, 8 hours on other days, up to 28 hours per week, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Minors When School Is Not In Session Age 14 and 15 – may work 8 hours, 40 hours per week (based on a 6-day week), 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. June 21 to Labor Day Age 16 and 17 – may work 8 hours, 48 hours per week (based on a 6-day week), 6 a.m. to midnight,
