About Minnesota Gastroenterology Privately owned specialty physician practice. 7 locations throughout the Twin Cities metro area, primarily in suburban locations. Job titles range from entry level medical records techs to Gastroenterologists. Company focus on quality, efficiency, price competitiveness. Preparing for future imperatives in healthcare such as healthcare reform.

3 Why the WBA? Long history of very high health plan utilization. Wellness efforts focused on off the shelf health plan programs. Health plan metrics showed high utilization for mental health, obesity, chronic disease in employee and spouse. Existing workplace culture committee in place, focused on global treatment. We wanted to improve but didn’t know where to start.

4 Population Demographics

5 Participation & Incentives Survey communication led by two separate committees – communication discussions began approximately two months prior to survey launch. Incentives based on the response rate per physical location. Local committee members able to manage participation. No incentives paid if response rate was below the 80% target. Incentives consistent with overall well-being – family activities, Nike store, American Express. Total cost around $1,500
