Planning for Postsecondary Education Graduation from high school does not guarantee admission into Postsecondary programs. Students need to take the 'right' courses needed for admission; planning is important to ensure that admission requirements are met. MUN programs require an academic program; CNA two and three year programs require academic Math and Sciences.

Memorial University Entrance Requirements (Minimum 70% average in select courses) Language Arts: English 3201 Math: one of: Math 3204 or Math 3205 Science: one of: Biology 3201 Chem Physics 3204 Ear. Sys World Studies/French: one of: W. Hist. 3201/Hist.Mond W. Geog Francais 3202 French 3200 Elective: EITHER a) Two 1 credit courses at the 3000 level OR b) One 2 credit course at the 3000 level.

College of the North Atlantic Entrance Requirements One Year Programs – (Skilled Trades, Office Admin, Paramedicine, etc) – High school diploma Two and Three Year Programs – Varies depending on the program. – Applied Arts (such as Early Childhood Ed., Food Service, Textile Studies, Graphic Design, Community Rec. Leadership, etc) – Minimum would be a 60% average in nine 3000 level credits.

College of the North Atlantic Entrance Requirements continued Math and/or Science concentrated programs – (such as Business Admin/Management, Engineering Tech., Computer Support/Website Admin., Medical Sciences etc.) Overall 60% average, including: English 3201 or 3202 with minimum (60%) Academic Math 2204 (50% minimum), Math 3204 (60% minimum) Engineering and Medical Science also requires a 60% in two of : Biology 3201, Physics 3204, Chemistry 3202 or Earth Systems 3201 Note: All programs at CONA accept non-academic English, however select programs accept require academic math and/or sciences.

What If I Haven’t Met the MUN Entrance Requirements? Write a Public Exam Supplementary Attend Public Exam Supplementary preparation courses Upgrade courses through a fourth year of high school or Adult Basic Education

What If I Haven’t Met the Entrance Requirements? Attend as a “mature student”: A mature student is age “21” at MUN, and age “19” (and out of school for one year) at CNA. ☼ Summer Bridging (Aug 17 – Aug 28, 2009): Any Newfoundland and Labrador student who miss the MUN admission requirements by five per cent or less - that is, a high school graduating average between 65 and 70 per cent in courses required for admission - is eligible to apply.
