The role of a Maths Hub in partnership with ITE providers Tony Staneff Maths Hub Lead Trinity Academy Halifax

Overview  35 school based Hubs that are regionally based.  Each Maths Hub is undertaking several national collaborative projects. o England – China exchange o Singapore textbook project o Primary specialist mastery teachers o KS3 reasoning project o Post 16 maths

Overview  Each Maths Hub will also have a series of Work Groups undertaking regional projects.  Each Hub is involved in a further collaborative project. “Developing the mathematics-specific elements of initial teacher training programmes”

Some examples  Involvement in several Work Groups.  Delivered training to undergraduate and postgraduate students and their mentors. o England – China exchange o Textbook trial o C – P – A o Questioning in mathematics o Teaching for mastery  (Mini) Celebration of Maths
