Disclaimer! The French and Indian War was not between the French and the Indians (or Native Americans). The French and Indian War was between the French and British, with help from colonial leaders and Native Americans.

The French and Indian War Begins! The British and the French controlled land in North America. Britain begins to moved west, into the Ohio River Valley. Britain send a militia, led by Washington to order the French to leave.

The French and Indian War Begins! The British and the French began to build forts in the Ohio River Valley. French: Fort Duquesne British: Fort Necessity

The Albany Congress Expecting a war, the British government calls a meeting of colonial leaders.  Plan for the colonies to defend themselves against the French.  Hoped to form an alliance with the Iroquois.  Alliance – an agreement between nations or groups to help each other.  The Iroquois refused  they expected the French to win.
