Annual Conference 20 June 2007 Jane Imrie Executive Director

Our Mission To create excellence in the teaching of mathematics by improving the skills, effectiveness and aspirations of the mathematics teaching community to enable the mathematics needs and potential of all learners to be fully realised.

The National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics “ Working collaboratively to enhance mathematics teaching” Our aims: Improving the capability and capacity of the mathematics teaching workforce Providing coordination and leadership for the development of the mathematics teaching workforce Bringing coherence to the mathematics sector

“It’s a great way of keeping in touch with the latest thinking and developments” “The NCETM portal provides a one-stop shop for teachers and leaders of mathematics” “Communities are an excellent way of finding out what others are doing as well as a good place to get advice on maths teaching ” “The resources are really useful too” “It can give you great comfort when you feel you are the only one with a certain problem and – hey presto, you find you are not!” I am enjoying using this portal, especially because when I need some inspiration to prepare sessions well, it helps me. “All in all, a very useful site”

Jane Imrie
