Timeline Commission’s proposal submitted in May Co-decision of Council and Parliament Postponements in the timeline First review by topic (12) done by Belgian presidency – questions submitted to the Commission – stuck with Budget negotiations Reviewed proposal ready by the end of Hungarian Presidency (Jan – June 2011) Final negotiations with the Commission during Polish presidency (Jul – Dec 2011) Approval by the end of 2012

Council Meeting with Belgian presidency of the EU (18 November) chair Council budget committee –Started discussion through 12 topics, blocked by Budget 2011 negotiations –Positive but no commitment Approached Hungarian Per Rep to the EU –Follow up meeting with Belgian presidency –Request for a presentation to the Budget committee Meeting with Cabinet Mr van Rumpuy on 29th November Approached British and French governments
