The purpose of this project is to create a comprehensive learning environment for teachers, students and parents. This project will provide support for science fair participants to guide them through the process of developing a successful science fair project and allow them to reflect on their efforts along the way. Overview

The Moodle Interface

The Moodle Features Teacher has full control over all course settings. Choice of course formats such as by week, by topic or a discussion-focused social format. Flexible array of course activities - Forums, Journals, Quizzes, Resources, Choices, Surveys, Assignments, Chats, Workshops Full user logging and tracking - activity reports for each student are available with graphs and details about each module. Suitable for 100% online classes as well as supplementing F2F learning.

Constructivist – Science Fair is constructivist by nature. Students will use information in the tutorial to construct the science project of their choice. Behavioral – Some activities in the tutorial (quizzes) involve behavioral principals. Cognitive – Several features allow for learner interactivity such as the Journal Module, Discussion Forum, Chat Module, Choice Activity (class votes) and the Survey feature. Learning Theories

Learner Characteristics Age: 9-14 / Elementary – Middle School Access to computer: –At school (time dependent upon number of computers in room and access to computer lab) –Facilitator will monitor access Familiarity with Computer: –Elementary = basic knowledge and computer skills –Middle School = Experience with software and Internet
