The Visit by Frederich Durrenmatt Shepard Productions 1969 American International School New Delhi Photos by TAKA
A Word from the Director When Durrenmatt conceived of “The Visit”, he created an assuse of horror. Revenge is the motive. Death is the response. The characters are intense, they must run a gambit of emotions from joy to fear to calculating detachment. There can be no compromise for them. They are left with no other alternative. The setting of the play is rural. The time is contemporary. The tale, however, is endless. We produce “The Visit” for you. Think with us. Anticipate with us. And finally, enjoy with us also. Frank G. Shepard, Jr. “The Visit” was the last production by Mr. Shepard during his years at AIS.
