Berryhill Rhododendron Bluffs Tool: Conservation Values Scorecard

A property conservation value scorecard. Provides a numerical score to assess conservation targets and indicators. Provides a consistent assessment during the acquisition phase. Provides a comparison of conservation targets over time. What and Why?

How to use it. Catawba Rhododendron Riparian Buffer Ginseng Conservatio n Targets Ginseng is listed as a species of concern in NC. Both Catawba rhododendron and mountain laurel occur on a heath bluff, rare for this area, and comprise a mesic mixed hardwood community 13

Analysis IF TLC had an opportunity to buy the property today, this tool would allow an assessment of the conservation value of the property as it relates to their mission. Qualitative judgment interpreted from numerical score. Different organizations can customize the scorecard to meet their mission goals and can weight criteria to reflect their priorities.
