 “The garden spider is very harmless to people. There are many kinds of garden spiders. The Garden Spider hunts first. It stays very still in the middle of the web, unless it is frightened. It stays in the middle of the web until a fly flies into it. As soon as this happens the garden spider goes to catch its prey. Some garden spiders close their eyes and when a fly flies into their web they would feel the vibration of the movement and catch the insect. The garden spider eats flies and other insects. It builds an orb web.”
