What can be done to increase small scale hydroelectric power in Japan? Ryuji Takamura

What is small scale hydroelectric power? Small scale hydroelectric power is the generation using a little water source. Usable water sources are a stream, a water pipe, and so on.

Advantages and disadvantages Advantages ・ If there is a little water, can be set small scale hydroelectric power. ・ Amount of power generation is less affected by the weather. ・ This generation doesn't generate CO 2, and doesn't need a dam. Disadvantages ・ When set up a generator in the stream, amount of power generation is affected by quantity of water, and need to clean the water wheel. ・ We need a different type of generator by location.

To increase small scale hydroelectric power 1. Set up a generator in the stream The generation of electricity in the stream has disadvantages, but also it has advantages. Small scale hydroelectric power can also be used in a brook. Japan has many brooks and rainfall. Therefore, small scale hydroelectric power matches Japan's environmental.

To increase small scale hydroelectric power 2. Set up a generator in a building There are many places that can sat up a generator in a building. For example, faucets, toilets and water pipes. When we use these facilities, they generate electricity. Therefore, to set up a generator in a building is efficient.

Conclusion Small scale hydroelectric power is environmentally friendly because it is hydropower and doesn't use the dam. In addition, it matches Japan's environmental, and can be used in various situations.
