TIMBER SALE STATISTICS FISCAL YEAR 2006 –527 Million board feet (MMBF) sold –Hardwood species made up over 8% of the sold volume –37 MMBF of alder

Fiscal Year 2007 –Approx. 580 million board feet sold. –More than 37 million board feet of hardwood species sold. –5% of harvest in alder.

Fiscal Year 2008 –Estimated 664 million board feet. –Estimated alder volume 31 million board feet.

Other Points of Interest Alder slicer sort offered in Gritts Contract harvest sale – NW region. Sold for $1,521 per mbf. –12 inch min. DIB. –10 ft. length multiples. –Suitable for veneer slicing. Increased theft of hardwoods –Maple music wood –Alder butt logs

Continued high demand for alder reflected in higher prices for alder logs.
