Timeline Born 1925 Moved to Lexington, Kentucky 1948 Married Marilyn Meatyard 1953 Became a Optimist Died 1972 before photoboom and before His last book was published photography becomes one of his past time favorites photography hits many major museums like Smithsonian starts getting photos for Lucybelle Crater book.

Biography RRalph Eugene Meatyard was born in Normal, Illinois on May 15, He is a father of three, an Optician, and the president of the PTA, and coach of a boys basketball team. Everything about his art was about unusual patterns and expected patterns. Meatyard died on May 7, 1972 when he was working on his final book called The Family book of Lucybelle Crater which he was working on before he died. His family Finished and published his book which he laid out and sequenced before his death.

Meatyards Specialty MMeatyards specialty and most famous work is when he puts masks worn by posing people and objects. His other specialty is also when he uses his No Focus imagery in his photographs.

What Kind of style did he use? RRalph Meatyard used a style called Vernacular Focus. Vernacular focus is whenever a photographer takes a ordinary object and common things such as subjects that have uncommon qualities to them. Meatyard also created his own style called No focus imagery. It is when you take a picture and you do not focus the picture to get the quality's that you need.

The Impact Meat yard had on the media  Ralph Meatyards death was at the height of photo boom a period of growth and advancements in photography. His photography was described as one of the most original and disturbing imagery of all times.

Did Meatyards style change over the years?  Meatyard use Vernacular focus but then started using it less and less and started using his own style called No Focus imagery more and more.

Conclusion IIn Conclusion, Ralph Eugene Meatyard was a very talented photographer that was best at taking pictures that ordinary people were wearing masks doing what they do in their ordinary lives every day. He used Vernacular focus and also created No Focus Imagery which he used more then vernacular focus. His photos were collected by many major museums.
