Who Said this? I know men and I tell you that Jesus Christ is no mere man. Between Him and every other person in the world there is no possible term of comparison. Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne, and I have founded empires. But on what did we rest the creation of our genius? Upon force. Jesus Christ founded His empire upon love; and at this hour millions of men would die for Him. I know men and I tell you that Jesus Christ is no mere man. Two Fishing boats

Luke 5 Push Out into Deep Water 1 -3 Once when he was standing on the shore of Lake Gennesaret, the crowd was pushing in on him to better hear the Word of God. He noticed two boats tied up. The fishermen had just left them and were out scrubbing their nets. He climbed into the boat that was Simon's and asked him to put out a little from the shore. Luke 5 Push Out into Deep Water 4 When he finished teaching, he said to Simon, "Push out into deep water and let your nets out for a catch." 4 When he finished teaching, he said to Simon, "Push out into deep water and let your nets out for a catch." 5 -7 Simon said, "Master, we've been fishing hard all night and haven't caught even a minnow. But if you say so, I'll let out the nets." It was no sooner said than done—a huge haul of fish, straining the nets past capacity. They waved to their partners in the other boat to come help them. They filled both boats, nearly swamping them with the catch Simon said, "Master, we've been fishing hard all night and haven't caught even a minnow. But if you say so, I'll let out the nets." As the fisherman clean the nets, the cats wait.

Thinking about the people listening to Jesus some are…. 1. The Looky Loo – The kind of person who shows up just because there was a crowd. They slow down when there ‟ s an accident on the freeway, or a fight in the halls at school. 1. The Looky Loo – The kind of person who shows up just because there was a crowd. They filled both boats, nearly swamping them with the catch Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell to his knees before Jesus. "Master, leave. I'm a sinner and can't handle this holiness. Leave me to myself." When they pulled in that catch of fish, awe overwhelmed Simon and everyone with him. It was the same with James and John, Zebedee's sons, coworkers with Simon Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell to his knees before Jesus. "Master, leave. I'm a sinner and can't handle this holiness. Leave me to myself." When they pulled in that catch of fish, awe overwhelmed Simon and everyone with him. It was the same with James and John, Zebedee's sons, coworkers with Simon Jesus said to Simon, "There is nothing to fear. From now on you'll be fishing for men and women." They pulled their boats up on the beach, left them, nets and all, and followed him Jesus said to Simon, "There is nothing to fear. From now on you'll be fishing for men and women." They pulled their boats up on the beach, left them, nets and all, and followed him.

So you hear the words of Jesus. But what does this mean to follow Jesus? But what does this mean to follow Jesus? Does it mean riches? Does it mean riches? Does it mean safety? Does it mean safety? Does it mean pleasure? Does it mean pleasure? What does it look like to follow Jesus TODAY? What does it look like to follow Jesus TODAY?

10I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your concern for me. You were indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity. 11Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. 12I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. 13I can do all things through him who strengthens me. 10I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your concern for me.
