New Club Building Hello Michigan District of Key Club! My name is Rio Weikum and I am your New Club Building Chair for ! I am a junior at Jefferson High School, but I am a soon to be senior. Though Key Club is essentially life, I am actually involved in many other extra circular activities! This includes MyLead, Student Council, National Honor Society, Special Olympic Volunteer Chair. and many others. May 2015 Creating dog toys out of old t-shirts In This Issue: NCB Job Description……...2 Goals/SB Recap……………..3 ICON Information………….4

What Does the New Club Building Chair Do? The most important thing a New Club Building Chair does is build new clubs in Michigan. Not only do we build Key Clubs, but we also create Builders Clubs (middle school clubs). We are essentially the “Middle man” when it comes to connecting students with sponsoring Kiwanis clubs and LTG’s. Therefore, NCB chairs are responsible for getting all the information needed to charter a new club and putting that information to good use. Some may even create documents to help out the next New Club Building Chair. It’s all about communication, which is something we specialize in. Though I am the chair of the New Club Building Committee, there are also a other members who help to make new club happen! There are 3 LTG’s and one executive board member. This includes Justin Cadarette of Division 1, Manasa Dittakavi of Division 11, Drake Lambright of Division 9, and Meet Patel, Treasurer. I am so honored to be able to work with these amazing people! Justin Cadarrette Drake LambrightMeet Patel Manasa Dittakavi

My Goals /Spring Board Recap My main goal this year is to build 10 clubs. Once I have met that goal, I would like to bump it up. My two sub-goals would be to update the New Club Building Kit and to begin a Builders Kit. I would also like to create a PowerPoint for New Club’s first meetings, which would help cut out stress for the president. Spring Board was an amazing experience. I learned so much about my job, thanks to the previous chair, Alex Prosi. Here, I learned a lot about the New Club Building Kit, the chartering process, and I got advice on how to run meetings, etc. I also got to bond with the members on board, which was incredible! I can’t wait for Summer Board!!!
