States’ Positive Views: 10 CFR Part 37 Rulemaking: more transparent method States were engaged early and often States provided opportunity to comment on the draft proposed rule resulting in changes Basis: Health and Safety instead of Common Defense and Security
Part 37 Development State representatives assisted NRC in developing responses to public comments Progress made in addressing state issues – Reviewing Official Approval – Credit Check – LLEA capability degradation notification – LLEA notification at temporary job sites
Status of SSR Part V Part 37: mostly Compatibility Category “B” Little flexibility in developing SSR Draft Part V sent to reviewers in May 2014 Comments received by August 2014 Send to CRCPD Board by September 2014 Completion by end of 2014
