One Way: 5(10) +5(4) 5 ft 10 ft+ 4 ft 5 ft Find the area of each rectangle. 50 ft 2 20 ft 2

5(10) +5(4) = 70 5 ft 14 ft Now put the two rectangles back together. 50 sq ft + 20 sq ft

Second way: 5(10+4) 5(14) = 70ft 2 5 ft ft =14 ft 70 ft 2
