Read “Allied Strategy in Europe”

The invasion of Normandy (D-DAY) June 6, 1944  The invasion of Normandy (code name: Operation Overlord) was the greatest seaborne invasion of modern times and is considered the decisive battle of the war in Western Europe. Before this battle the German army firmly occupied France and had access to the raw materials and industrial capacity of western Europe. Resistance by the Allies had not been effective up to this time.  After the successful invasion at Normandy (France) the tide of war changed. The invasion of Normandy proved a psychological and physical blow to the German military from which Germany would never recover.

The division of Germany after World War 2

The United Nations An international organization founded in 1945 after World War II by 51 countries committed to maintaining international peace and security, developing friendly relations among nations and promoting social progress, better living standards and human rights.
