The 5 Pillars of Islam Muslims have 5 duties which they try to carry out to be part of the Muslim community.

Shahadah Believing and saying the words “there is no god but Allah, Muhammad is his prophet.”

Salat Praying 5 times a day facing Mecca. Should wash before praying and must use prayer mat. Must kneel with the forehead placed on the ground in front. This shows servitude to Allah.

Zakat Each year, Muslims should give a percentage of their savings to the poor. This way their wealth is “made pure.”

Sawn No food or drink during daylight hours during the month of Ramadan.

Hajj Muslims must make the pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in a life, if it can be afforded and the person is in good health.
