Orientation Guide Metro Map Calendar Hotels

Eating Out (p. 11) Czechs will usually start a meal with a drink before food arrives. You should wait until everyone has a drink and then toast by saying “Na Zdravi”. Lightly touch glasses with everyone at the table and look into their eyes as doing so. Try not to cross your arms with another person when touching glasses.

Eating Out When food arrives wish everyone a good appetite by saying “Dobrou Chut”. In restaurants you will usually seat yourself. If there is no host/hostess greeting you at the door then simply pick an open table where you would like to sit and your waitperson will assist you.

Walking Tour On Jan 14 th I will give you a guided tour of Prague. This will be a long day, so wear good waterproof, comfortable shoes. The schedule is on page 17 of your orientation guide. Please bring the map and directions with you on Jan 14 th, along with your guidebooks.

Shopping Pages 18 &19 of your orientation guide lists several shopping districts and shopping malls. There are several boutiques that carry European designers that are not yet available in the US, but in general these items are quite expensive.

Other Info Page 4 of your orientation guide lists the hotel information and on page 7 is my contact information. Starting on page 19 there are some basic tips for getting the most out of the course. The US Consular Information Sheet and other information on the Czech Republic starts on page 21.

Class Website Most of the information here is in your orientation guide, but the website will be updated regularly, even when we are in the Czech Republic. Questions?
