Language of the Day Pretend that you found a treasure chest. What’s inside? “I opened a treasure chest, and I found _____.”

Expressing Intentions How to express intentions (pg. 354) Tell about a plan or goal. Use the phrase, “I am going to…” There’s a secret garden in my house. I’m going to discover it. How will you achieve your goal? Use the phrase, “I plan to…” I plan to hunt in corners. What else will you do? Use the phrase, “I will …” Use the phrase, “I’ll keep … until…” I’ll move the couch and look behind it. I’ll keep looking until I find the treasure. Write about intentions you have (plans for the summer, what to do in 5 th grade, etc.) and use the sentence stems in red to create a paragraph.
