Just Another Day at the NASA Office? A Choose Your Own Adventure START!

You are the janitor at a NASA station. As you are cleaning up, you see something you’ve never seen before--a rocket ship with the keys left inside! Do you get in the rocket ship? Go to slide A. Do you get in the rocket ship? Go to slide A. Do you continue cleaning? Go to slide B. Do you continue cleaning? Go to slide B.

A You climb in the rocket ship. You can see all the buttons blinking and hear strange noises coming from the control panel. Do you take the keys out of the ignition? Go to slide C. Do you take the keys out of the ignition? Go to slide C. Do you sit in the captain’s chair? Go to slide D. Do you sit in the captain’s chair? Go to slide D.

B You keep cleaning the offices. Sweep, sweep! Dust, dust! Grab the trash. Then, you go home and nothing exciting happens. Do you want to start over? Go to slide 3. Do you want to start over? C You take the keys out of the ignition. You climb out of the rocket ship. You go over to the key hook and hang them where they are supposed to be. As the keys sway and jingle, you whistle a matching tune knowing that you have helped to avert a disaster! Go to slide B.

D You slide into the captains chair. Boy is it comfortable! As you look around, it seems like a video game and you decide to pretend to play it. You accidentally hit the launch button and the rocket takes off! Do you pick up the radio and call for help? Go to slide E. Do you pick up the radio and call for help? Go to slide E. E You frantically look all over until you find the radio. “NASA, NASA! Is anyone there? I’m in the rocket! How do I get back?” “Rocketship 1, this is NASA. Look for the big red OOPs button. If you hit that, it will bring you back.” “Thanks, NASA! I see it!” Do you hit the OOPs button? Go to slide G. Do you hit the OOPs button? Go to slide G. Do you hit the green button next to it? Go to slide H. Do you hit the green button next to it? Go to slide H.

F How many chance do you get to go into space? You may as well enjoy the ride. You’ve always wanted to go to Mars, so you reprogram the computer and aim for the red planet. Go to slide I.

G Without hesitating, you hit the big red button. You can feel the spaceship turning around until you see Earth below you. “Ahhh, home!” you think. The rocket lands safely and you get to spend the rest of your life telling stories about the day you went into space! Do you want to start over? Go to slide 3. Do you want to start over? H Now that you know that getting back home won’t be so hard, you throw caution to the wind and decide to see what the green button does. You reach down and hit the green button. The rocket ship responds to your touch by changing direction and picking up speed. Go to slide I.

I As you look out the window, you see a red planet ahead of you. The ship is heading right for it! You look at all of the buttons worries because you don’t know how to land this big tin can! You needn’t have worried since the autopilot was on. It completes a safe landing on Mars. The rocky red landscape looks inviting. Do you stay in the rocket? Go to slide J. Do you stay in the rocket? Go to slide J. Do you get out and explore Mars? Go to slide K. Do you get out and explore Mars? Go to slide K.

J You sit in the rocket and enjoy the view. “Man, this is cool!” you think. The radio starts to crackle. Then you hear, “Rocket ship 1, this is NASA. Who is driving and where are you?” You explain what happened. “Okay, Rocket ship 1, you’ll need to come back to Earth now. Please hit the big red Oops button and that will bring you home safely. Go to slide G.

K You get out of the spaceship and start to walk around. There was a group of Martians hiding behind a rock. Half of them rush to your spaceship and take off. The other half capture you! You struggle to get free, but they are too strong. They decide to put you in a Martian zoo where you remain for the rest of your life. Do you want to start over? Do you want to start over?
