Turning Things Around How’d you DO that?

1. Admit you have to do something n Take an audit n What’s the perception? n What’s your niche? n What’s the buzz?

2. Get People Involved n Use some experts n Focus groups n SWOT analysis n Brainstorm

3. Decide: What is REALLY going on? E.G.: n Is it money or is it management? n Is it recruitment or is it retention? n Is it the program or is it the instruction? n Is it morale or is it school spirit? n Is it the mission or is it the culture? n Is it leadership or is it management?

4. Prioritize n What needs to be done first? n How much “bang for the buck”? n Where do we begin? n Where do we want to be? n Plan, plan, plan

Remember: Madness is defined as doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome each time.

5. Get Off the Dime n Even small steps are effective n Have a budget for your action n Appoint people to take on individual projects n Be accountable n Keep the data coming in

6. Finally…. n Do good PR n Strive to involve more people n Have the courage to hear the tough stuff n Keep moving
