As we all know, the Great Wall is located in North China. It is 6,700 kilometers long and thus known as the “10,000-li Great Wall”. The building of the wall went on for more than 2,000 years, from 700 BC to 1,400 AD. Thousands of people lost their lives while building it. As one of the seven wonders in the world, the Great Wall was used to protect the Chinese nation from the enemies’ invasion in history. It is our pride and shows the wisdom of the Chinese people.

Last week we had our class meeting. All our teachers joined us in the meeting. Our monitor first talked about our study and life at school and thanked the teachers for their kind help and good care. Then our class teacher made a speech. He hoped that we would keep studying hard. After that we gave each other presents. We sang and danced together until late in the afternoon. We all had a wonderful time and agreed that it was really an unforgettable class meeting.

Mr Li teaches us geography. He is my favourite teacher. He is tall and thin. Though Mr Li is in his fifties, he is still very active. He likes traveling very much and often shows us the photos of many historical interest he took during his trips. He has a lot of knowledge in geography, and it makes his lessons very interesting. Most of us are attracted by his lessons, because they let us know the world better. Besides, he is always friendly and kind to all the students. In a word, I like both Mr Li and his lessons very much.

Electronic dictionary There are so many wonderful machines in our life. The electronic dictionary is one of them. We use it in our study. It helps us to study English easily. And it’s very small. We can put them in our pockets. The electric dictionary is very useful to us students. We can not only use it like a dictionary, but also get some information from it. And if we feel bored, we can play games on it. And we can also download information from the computer with it. Also it can be used as a calculator. It can also be used as a watch. Now, do you think an electronic dictionary is useful to you?

A letter to my English teacher Dear Miss Wang: You have taught me English for more than two years. In the past two years, you have taught me a lot. My favourite person My idol is Will Pan. He looks cool and his hot hip-hop songs and dance make me happy. Pan made three albums during the past three years, and his fans love them all. But Pan said he likes to be a singer to give people happiness. Though it’s hard to be a singer. We all think Will Pan; a new artist, will give us more songs and more happiness.

My favourite person As we all know, Edison was one of the greatest scientists in the world. He was born in America in When he was a child, his family was very poor, he couldn’t wear the nice clothes, couldn’t often go to the cinema to see films with his parents. So by the time he was twelve, he had become a newspaper boy. He sold newspapers on a train. His study was poor, so his mother had to teach him herself at home. But Edison was not interested in subjects; he was only interested in science. So he learned science carefully, he often asked people to teach him the difficult problems. He was honest and never told a lie, he was clever and brilliant enough to invent many useful things such as electric bulbs. His inventions were all very famous. Because of his persistent, he became well-known, he was a great man.

No pain, no gain “No pain, no gain,”is an English saying, but I did not understand it until I was ten. At the age of ten, I started being interested in computer so that I leant how to use computer in an evening school. My teacher liked me very much because I learnt it very quickly and well. Once, a computer contest was going to take place in my evening school and the winner would get 100 yuan. I was so confident that I thought I could get the winner without going over my lessons, I said to myself “ I am good at it, it is unnecessary for me to go over my lessons, it just wastes time.” So when my friends went over their lessons attentively, I was playing computer games happily. At last, to my surprise, I failed to win the contest. No pain, no gain. Now I know “practice makes perfect “and “if a thing is worth doing, it is worth doing well”. I think next time I won’t make this mistake again, because we know experience must be bought. I will try my best to do everything with a good beginning and a good ending. Just wait and see!

My own way of relaxing Everyone has his own way of relaxing. It is true that all of us need recreation. What’s your way of relaxing? Now let me tell you, my own way of relaxing. I have two ways. One is watching TV. Watching TV can open our eyes, broaden our mind. We can also learn something form TV. When you watch TV, you will feel excited and interested, and then you will forget your sadness. The other is while I am listening to music, I am reading books. It’s very pleased.
