The Younger Years She grew up in Weymouth, Massachusetts her parents were William and Elizabeth Quincy Smith Her brothers and sisters were Mary, Billy, and Betsey Smith Her only friends were her sisters because she was frequently sick A friend ; Richard Cranch ; introduced her to John Adams when she was fifteen years old

The Important Role She wanted the government to make fairer laws She fought for women's rights to vote She fought so women could keep some money they earned her everyday job was being a housewife she wrote all of these rights in her letters
