John Chapter 17
John 17: 1 Father, the hour has come………….. John 18: 1 After Jesus had said this prayer he left with his disciples……
between the upper room and the crucifixion
for himself, his disciples and then us ….
to release his disciples to know the Father as he does
to follow the Father’s will as he does
to live life in this world as he has
Jesus prays…….. to keep us from evil
for our unity
We can handle it
A personal example Prayer, hope and coming to my senses
Jerusalem????
Jerusalem I woke up this morning and none of the news was good The death machines were rolling cross the ground where Jesus stood And the man on my TV told me that it had always been that way And there was nothing anyone can do or say
And I almost listened to him And, I almost lost my mind Then I regained my senses again I looked into my heart to find I believe that one fine day all the children of Abraham Will lay down their swords forever in Jerusalem
Maybe I'm only dreaming and maybe I'm just a fool But I don't remember learning how to hate in Sunday school Somewhere along the way I strayed and I never looked back again I Ah, but I still find some comfort now and then
Then the storm comes rumbling in And I can not lay me down And the drums start drumming again And I can not stand the sound I believe there'll come a day when the lion and the lamb Will lie down in peace together in Jerusalem
“I pray not only for them, but also for those who believe in me because of their message. I pray that they all be one. Father !” John 17: 15
There'll be no barricades then And there'll be no wires or walls And we can wash all this blood from our hands All this hatred from our souls And I believe that on that day all the children of Abraham Will lay down their swords forever in Jerusalem ………….lay down their swords forever in Jerusalem Joan Baez
we can handle it “I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but those you gave me, for they belong to you.” John 17: 9
