Definition Supply chain management or logistic involves controlling the sequence of activities in the distribution of goods or services from production to the final consumer. Logistic involves the following key functions: Stock control Quality control Supplier network Transportation network

Stock control This involves managers planning and monitor the amount, movement and storage of the products.

Quality control This involves ensuring that there is quality and value added so that customers will buy the product

Supplier network This involves deciding which and how many middle men will be used to distribute the products.

Transportation This involves deciding on the most efficient and cost effective methods of distribution. Some businesses use their own distribution network. Others will use sub contractors or courriers
