Northern Lincolnshire Healthy Lives Healthy Futures Programme Programme Update for North East Lincolnshire Partnership Board 12 September 2013

Progress to date Development of options is continuing: – Ongoing Clinical innovation sessions led by commissioners to progress zero based model and to challenge & stretch the boundaries – In August, clinical pathway sessions led by key local providers started. These sessions aim to collaboratively enhance, improve or develop key clinical pathways Finance & modelling groups now set up Public Engagement (phase 1) has now been running for 8 weeks and has been successful and informative

Communications & Engagement Progress to date A significant range of activities have taken place over the last 3 months to raise the profile and understanding of the programme These activities have incorporated: – Stakeholders – Public – Providers (including GPs as providers) The next 5 slides give a detailed view of progress to date

Pre-Summit Stakeholder Engagement Prior to the Stakeholder Summit event on 22 nd July, all stakeholders were invited to meet with CCG representatives to enable the CCGs to introduce the programme, Commissioner Vision, Case for Change and Evaluation Criteria. 40 meetings took place and any feedback from these sessions was recorded and actioned where required During the Stakeholder Summit, attendees were asked to vote on a range of questions. The general consensus from the stakeholder summit: The vision is heading in the right direction (with 14.2% rating it as ‘excellent’ and 78.5% ‘about right’). Other comments confirmed that delegates felt that ‘it is the right time for change’ and that ‘the approach supports and subscribed to what’s taking place elsewhere’.

Have Your Say – Public Engagement Interim Results The key survey results so far indicate: – Case for change Feedback: A high level of support for the need to change services (73.8%) with only a minority (5.6%) disagreeing. 73.2% rated as very important the support you need to keep yourself healthy & well 69.1% agreed that some services which are currently delivered in hospital could be delivered elsewhere through health centres, community groups, social enterprises & charities – Evaluation Criteria - Access 69.1% agree that some services currently provided in hospital could be provided elsewhere; 52.5% would travel; 35.4% would travel a short distance. Only 10.1% stated that they did not want to travel. – Evaluation Criteria - Quality Of the decision making criteria, quality ranks as the highest issue.

GP Provider Sessions 8 GP practice engagement sessions have been held across North and North East Lincolnshire. There has been some excellent feedback and comments from these sessions and this has been recorded and responded to. Some of the comments be picked up as part of the pathway redesign work currently being undertaken. Further sessions will be arranged using the council of members as a vehicle to promote the message to practices.

Proactive Planning Following the successful first period of engagement, a further 8 weeks of Communications and Engagement work will be undertaken between 16 th September and 8 th November 2013 It will allow the CCGs to continue reinforcing the Healthy Lives, Healthy Futures messages and maintaining public awareness while work continues to develop the options It will involve further briefings with local groups across North and North East Lincolnshire as well as continued communications through the website, social and local media A Stakeholder Engagement Register has been developed to ensure effective coordination of the ongoing engagement, and subsequent consultation with public and key stakeholders
