THE GAME THAT GOES BOOM!

Game Conception As a group we thought about the kind of games people like. Our criteria was: -Easy to pick up -Short game time -Lots of replayability -Fun with friends!

Game Conception (cont.) First we thought of how we would want people to play. A game board made the most sense.

Game Conception (cont.)  Weighing the pros and cons of each, our group went through several different board designs.  Unanimously, the group decided that a grid based game would be ideal.  A linear board deisign would make the game draw to a conclusion too quickly.  A linear game board with multiple paths would make the game overly complicated.  A grid based game would allow us the freedom to make a more open and simple game that wouldn’t end too quickly.

Game Conception (cont.) Rules and Game Set Up of Candy Explosion:  9x9 Grid Board, 81 spaces, 9 different symbols  81+ Pieces of Candy  9 Playing Cards  2+ Players  A Game Over space is chosen whilst the current player is away from the board. (Either by selection or random draw)  After selected, the player choose spaces on the game board to collect  End goal is to collect as many pieces as possible before the player chooses the Game Over space  Player with the most game pieces tallied up wins!
