The Conflict Over Circumcision Acts 15

The Conflict over Circumcision Paul’s conflict with the Judaizers (1-2) Paul and Barnabas report on their work (3-5) Church leadership considered matter (6) The dispute settled by God! (7, 12, 15, 28) The congregation was “pleased” with God’s decision (22) The Letter, sent to the Gentiles in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia (23- 29) “to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things...” (vs. 28)

Conclusion God is the one who settles questions of faith. God gives the leadership (elders) of a congregation the responsibility in taking a leadership role in determining His will on these matters. All Christians are expected to “agree” with the Holy Spirit.
